Mrs Susan Henderson

Mrs Susan Henderson, Cleaning Supervisor, died on 2 November 2011.

Susan joined Cleaning Services in April 1996 and very quickly proved herself a capable and assured member of staff; so much so, that she was promoted to Cleaning Supervisor within a matter of months.  Many of her responsibilities centred on the Cavendish Road area of the campus, including the School of Music and the Clothworkers’ Centenary Concert Hall.  To all aspects of her post, Susan brought a professional approach, characterised by a sound organisational sense, a willingness to take on extra tasks when circumstances demanded and a dedication to achieving the highest standard of service.  She was warmly regarded by both her immediate colleagues and the many other members of the University community with whom her duties brought her into contact.

In parallel with her supervisory role, Susan over the years took on a number of part-time appointments, initially with UNIPOL, then at Charles Morris Hall and, finally, at the Weetwood  Pavilion.  To each of these posts, she brought the same sterling qualities she displayed in her main appointment.

The funeral will be held at 11.00am on Thursday 10 November at Cottingley Hall Crematorium, Cottingley Hall, Ring Road, Beeston, LS11 0EU, when the flag on the Parkinson Building will be at half-mast in Susan’s memory.
