Undergraduate

Qualifications we accept for undergraduate study

High school diploma from all regions except Quebec, which requires the DEC. Must have been taught and assessed in person over three years.

Online study is only considered if undertaken due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

All regions require 5 grade 12 subjects, except Ontario, which requires 6 grade 12 subjects.

Subject specific grades:
A* = 85%
A = 80%
B = 75%

Additional guidance for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) We will consider the Ontario Secondary School Diploma where it has been taught in-person at either:

  • A school within the province of Ontario in Canada authorised to award the full OSSD.
  • One of the 19 brick-and-mortar international schools approved by the Ontario Ministry of Education. Check the list of approved schools.
  • Rosedale Global High School partner schools.

Awarding schools must be listed on the Canadian Ontario Government website as a school authorised to award OSSD credits:
Public schools
Private schools
International schools

Students undertaking the OSSD outside of Canada at a school not listed will not be considered.

If we ask for A*AA, you need:

85% overall with subject specific grades.

If we ask for AAA, you need:

80% overall with subject specific grades.

If we ask for AAB, you need:

80% overall with subject specific grades.

If we ask for ABB, you need:

75% overall with subject specific grades.

If we ask for BBB, you need:

75% overall with subject specific grades.

English Language minimum for undergraduate study

65% or above from the high school diploma (Communications 12 from British Columbia acceptable), IELTS 6.0 overall, GCSE C/4 or an equivalent qualification is required: Acceptable Language Qualifications.

Applicants who have studied in Canada for at least two years to complete an undergraduate degree or one year to complete a master’s degree, where the medium of instruction was English, are not required to undertake further English language tests.

For reference, Communications 12 (British Columbia) maps to IELTS Academic as follows:
60% = 5.5
65% = 6.0
70% = 6.5
75% = 7.0

Postgraduate

If we ask for 1st, you need:

  • 3.6 GPA (out of 4.0 or 4.3)
  • 8/9
  • 11/12
  • 80% (when pass mark is 50%)
  • 85% (when pass mark is 60%)
  • A lower requirement of 3.3 GPA (out of 4.0) is accepted from a select number of institutions.

If we ask for 2.1, you need:

  • 3.0 GPA (out of 4.0 or 4.3)
  • 7/9
  • 9/12/li>
  • 73% (when pass mark is 50)
  • 78% (when pass mark is 60)
  • A lower requirement of 2.8 GPA (out of 4.0), 6.5/9 or final grade B, 72% (when pass mark is 60), 75% (when pass mark is 50) is accepted from a select number of institutions.

If we ask for 2.2, you need:

  • 2.5 GPA (out of 4.0 or 4.3)

  • 6/12
  • 70% (when pass mark is 50)
  • 75% (when pass mark is 60)

English Language minimum for postgraduate study

You will need 65% or above from the high school diploma (Communications 12 from British Columbia acceptable), IELTS 6.5 overall, GCSE English C or 4 or an equivalent qualification: Check which English language qualifications we accept.

Applicants who have studied in Canada for at least two years to complete an undergraduate degree or one year to complete a Masters degree, where the medium of instruction was English, are not required to undertake further English language tests.
