Research collaboration

From the impact of digital technologies to post-pandemic societal change and the urgent need to operate sustainably, businesses are facing multiple challenges.

Collaborative approach

Your organisation is unique and so are the challenges and opportunities it faces. In a rapidly changing world, effective innovation is vital to enable your organisation to adjust to emerging demands.

We start by listening to what you want to achieve from a research collaboration; whether that’s developing products or services or finding ways to work and operate more effectively.

We’ll work with you to identify the right academic team for your needs, and the most appropriate structure for collaboration.

This approach has helped us build a track record of working effectively with organisations of all sizes, from start-ups through to large corporates, including public sector and voluntary partners.

The University of Leeds also has strong partnerships with research institutes which can be beneficial for your organisation.

Funding

We work with many funding bodies who can support your collaboration with us, including UK Research and InnovationInnovate UK Smart grants, regional schemes like the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership’s Connecting Innovation and a range of sector/technology-specific innovation funding programmes.

We offer Knowledge Transfer Partnerships including support for grant applications, recruiting a graduate or postgraduate, budgetary and project management assistance.
