Our challenge-led civic engagement aligns research and education with the health needs of our region.
Collaboration that improves lives
Health and wellbeing are core pillars of our research, teaching and civic mission, and we have deep partnerships with the NHS, regional health systems, charities and businesses.
The region needs better health outcomes, interventions to address inequality and a stronger life sciences and health technology innovation ecosystem.
We work closely with Leeds Teaching Hospitals and the Leeds Academic Health Partnership to improve treatments and services for local people, while educating the NHS workforce of the future.
We are also establishing a HealthTech Innovation Hub in partnership with Leeds Teaching Hospitals. This will bring together businesses, clinicians and academics to drive innovation, and is part of the wider Innovation Arc.
It is expected to create 4,000 jobs and deliver a £13 billion economic boost to the region.
