Our longstanding partnerships help us tackle climate challenges and support environmental sustainability.
Backing local action with expertise
Working closely with Leeds City Council and regional policymakers, we support evidence-based environmental policy and local action.
We are a founding partner of the Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission. The Commission brings together the public, private and third sectors to enable the delivery of ambitious climate action across the region.
We lead the Alliance for Northern Nature, bringing together communities and organisations across the UK to restore biodiversity, starting with the north of England. Our Living Labs on campus foster innovation and collaboration to address real-world sustainability challenges.
Gair Wood, part of our Climate Plan, contributes to the White Rose Forest, which aims to create a sustainable, well-wooded landscape across the region, benefiting local people, the economy and wildlife.
We align our research expertise with local policy needs and insights from partners to deliver practical, scalable environmental solutions.
