Information for teachers
Teachers and school groups are always welcome to join us at an Open Day.
Take the opportunity to explore our facilities. Step into our state-of-the-art science laboratories where your students could make their first discovery, or view a final year art show in one of our gallery spaces.
Let your pupils discover how Leeds could be their next chapter.
Booking in advance is essential for many sessions. We are unable to take group bookings. Each pupil and teacher will need to book onto each separate session they wish to attend.
Teachers are also welcome to attend any of the following drop-in sessions on the day (no pre-booking required). You can find further information on these on our Planning your open day page.
- Information Fair
- Accommodation viewings
- Tours of Leeds University Union
- Library tours
- Library open houses
- Tours of the Edge sports centre and Gryphon Performance Hub
- Subject drop ins
Tours will run at regular intervals throughout the day from 9am to 4pm.
Teachers’ lounge
There’ll be a space on campus for teachers to catch up with work and relax.
Access to wi-fi and morning refreshments will be available. Staff from our Educational Engagement team will be available to talk to you about how we can assist your learners.

The Teacher’s Lounge will only be available on Friday 12 June.
Travel bursary
We understand that with the current pressures on budgets, it is becoming increasingly difficult to fund transport to bring your students to campus.
We offer a travel bursary towards coach or minibus hire for eligible schools and colleges wishing to bring a group of students to our Open Day. As this is a limited pot of funding, we may not be able to offer a bursary to all schools that apply. Schools will be selected based on our widening participation criteria and location.

The travel bursary will only be applicable to Friday 12 June.
Coach booking
Limited spaces are available for coach parking on 12 June. Drop-off and pick-up will be on a first-come, first-served basis. As spaces are limited, please be mindful of the needs of other schools when making your booking.
To book a space, use our coach parking form.
Once you register your school or college, we will send you an email with detailed parking information. This will include directions to your drop-off point and parking area.
Please remember that a coach parking booking does not give you access to the Open Day sessions which must be booked separately.
