Postgraduate researcher interprets for Italian film director at Leeds Film Festival

LCS's Valentina Ragni interpreted for Pupi Avati at the 29th Leeds International Film Festival.

Valentina Ragni, Postgraduate Researcher in the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies, and Italian language tutor, served as interpreter for the Italian film director, Pupi Avati, on the night of 10 November. In Valentina's own words:

'It a was a great pleasure to be on stage as Pupi Avati's interpreter at LIFF - Leeds International Film Festival. He was a good friend of Federico Fellini, and worked with the likes of Pier Paolo Pasolini, Amedeo Tommasi and Lucio Dalla. He certainly is a charismatic man full of stories, anecdotes, painful truths and humorous jokes...

And I am proud to say I did receive some compliments for the translation'.
