What to expect at an open day

Designed to give you an insight into the Leeds student experience there are a variety of activities taking place during the day. You can find out about our range of courses, visit our accommodation, explore the campus and see our outstanding facilities, as well as chat to current students, admissions staff and academics.

Activities include:

Subject sessions

Find out more about the course you are interested in by attending relevant talks, taster lectures, drop in sessions, tours and demonstrations. Most activities take place in the department itself so you can experience what it’s like to study with us. You do not need to book to attend these sessions, but please be aware that some talks are popular so there may be a wait at peak times.

General talks

Our general talks take place throughout the day to give you an insight into what you can expect as a student at Leeds. Hear our current students’ experiences at the Introducing Leeds talk, discover more about living in Leeds at the accommodation talk, and find out how you can enhance your degree at our work placement, study abroad and volunteering talk.

Tours

Take a tour of our award winning students’ union and The Edge, our state of the sport and fitness facility. A selection of accommodation will be open for you to view, plus our impressive Laidlaw Library which opened in summer 2015.

Information fair

Here you’ll find representatives from each subject area to ask any course questions you may have. You can also talk to staff from the University’s student services including accommodation, finance, careers and study abroad.
