Creative Health Futures has identified thematic areas of interdisciplinary research expertise at the University of Leeds, mapping these to local, regional and national health priorities. These priorities align with the NHS Long Term Plan and the localised ambitions of the West Yorkshire Creative Health System (WYCHS), funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA).
To bridge research expertise and policy priorities, the project will host two high-priority workshops focusing on:
- children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing
- long-term health conditions.
These sessions will use themed advisory groups to co-design engagement models which will allow all parties to share knowledge and evidence of good practice, identified in collaboration with the National Centre for Creative Health, while setting the agenda for future work.
Each workshop will produce a policy briefing that makes recommendations and identifies opportunities for further collaboration. This work will feed into the development of a creative health strategy for the region.
This project is funded by the 2025–2026 Research England Policy Support Fund.
