Plan your visit Practical information
We want to make your visit to Be Curious enjoyable and memorable. Here’s all the information you need to know.
Who is Be Curious for?
Be Curious is suitable for everyone. This year we’re launching a dedicate space for teenagers or children looking for more of a challenge. They’ll get to meet University students and hear what it’s like to study here.
All children (under 18s) must be accompanied by an adult. Adults are solely responsible for the safety and wellbeing of children they bring. Children shouldn’t be left unsupervised or with any member of staff.
Where is Be Curious?
Be Curious is on the University of Leeds campus. The address for the University is University of Leeds, Woodhouse Lane, Leeds, LS2 9JT (Google Maps).
The entrance to Be Curious is to the left of the big set of stairs to Parkinson Court (What3words for the entrance to Be Curious ///land.parks.froze). There’ll be a gazebo where you can check in and receive your map.
How can I get there by public transport?
We try to think sustainably at Be Curious, so please take public transport, walk or cycle to the University if possible.
Buses 1, 1B, 27, 56 and 8 all stop near the entrance to Be Curious (What3words for the entrance to Be Curious ///land.parks.froze).
You can also walk from Leeds Railway Station to campus in roughly 20 minutes.
Visit our find us page for more details on how to get here.
Where can I park?
There’s limited paid parking on campus, which is on a first come, first served basis.
Find directions to public parking areas (orange zone) and the locations of disabled parking spaces using our Google Maps interactive campus parking map.
Visit our find us page for more details on how to get here.

How accessible is Be Curious?
We want Be Curious to be a fully accessible event, enjoyed by all. Each year, we learn more about how we can make Be Curious more accessible. We recognise the social model of disability and understand that removing barriers creates equity, independence and control.
All our buildings have step-free access and accessible toilets. There are also baby changing facilities in Parkinson Court and Leeds University Union.
Quiet spaces will be shown on the event map and will be open throughout the day for you to use.
Our quiet hour is for visitors who prefer a calmer environment. Between 10am and 11am, the number of visitors will be limited to allow you to move around campus at your own pace. Please book tickets in advance to enter the quiet hour. If you come on the day without a ticket, we’ll do our best to get you in depending on availability.
We’ll have a heat map showing which spaces are busy or quiet throughout the day. You can find this at the entrance (What3words for the entrance to Be Curious ///land.parks.froze).
We value your contributions to making Be Curious an accessible event for everyone. If you have any questions or suggestions about how we can ensure you have an enjoyable time with us, please email the Be Curious team at BeCurious@leeds.ac.uk.
Our information for disabled visitors page has more information on accessibility across the University.
How do I book a ticket?
You can book free tickets online before you arrive. If you come to the quiet hour without a ticket, we’ll do our best to get you in depending on availability.
You need to book tickets for every adult and child attending. You don’t need to book tickets for children under 12 months.
Where can I eat?
There’s lots of outdoor space across campus for picnics, including a large grassy area outside the M&S Archive (What3Words for outside the M&S Archive ///elbow.double.snows).
The cafe in Parkinson Court will be selling hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and snacks (What3Words location for ParkinsonCourt ///ruler.stay.invent). The Refectory in the Leeds University Union building will also be selling hot meals (What3Words location for The Refectory ///young.others.rent).
There are water fountains across campus for you to fill up your water bottles.
