Meet the Learning Design Team (LDT)
The Learning Design Team (LDT) supports staff members to use design thinking and co-creation approaches with students to help redefine and enhance the curriculum. We enable the creation of innovative and practical solutions by bringing colleagues and students together, to design an exceptional learning experience for all.

Terry Owens – Head of Operations
Terry leads, designs and implements the operational activity for the LDT. He can connect colleagues to the right support and subject experts and help develop curriculum design-related workshops.

James Forde- Lead Development Consultant (Curriculum Redefined)
James has expertise in student partnership methodology and tools, helping the LDT in supporting and guiding staff on their learning design journey.

Charlotte Haigh – DSE: Educational Enhancement and Student Experience
Charlotte, as a dean for student education, is responsible for the academic leadership of educational enhancement and pedagogy with a focus on the quality of the student experience.
Learning Design Operations Team
Our operations team work closely with our academic staff partners to ensure the smooth running of our collaboration, including event preparation, communications and engagement activities.

Alex Atkinson- Communications and Engagement Manager
Alex leads communications and engagement for the LDT. She can support with developing communications and engagement strategies, capturing content and creating resources.

Anthony McDonald- Events Co-ordinator
Anthony ensures all the Learning Design Team events run smoothly, coordinating event bookings, resources and details with partners.

Anastassia Belynskaia- Operations Coordinator
Anastassia helps to ensure the effective running of the operational support function of the LDT by coordinating activity and connecting colleagues.
Design Consultants
Our design consultants work closely with academic staff partners to scope out the needs of their work and to support our design leads and facilitators.

Allie is an experienced practitioner, consultant, and educator in the arts, heritage and cultural industries. She helps colleagues with building knowledge and confidence within their work.

Lauren Mottle
Lauren is a skilled educator and consultant who champions inclusive pedagogies. She helps colleagues to create equitable learning environments, exploring accessibility and diversity in education

Lucy Mason
Lucy is a Learning Design Consultant who empowers staff through pedagogical expertise, coaching, and design thinking. She helps foster staff-student partnerships and can advise best practice on it.
Research Team
Our research assistants engage with students and other stakeholders through activities such as interviews and focus groups. The findings are presented in accessible formats to inform our activities.

Faiza Iftikhar- Research Assistant (People Centred Design)
Faiza is an experienced designer and researcher who supports pre-sprint discovery with students and other stakeholders with a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Tridib Ray- Research Assistant (People Centred Design)
Tridib supports design sprints and pre-sprint discovery, enhancing inclusive learning experiences. He can assist with qualitative insights, design sprint activities, and student-centered initiatives.
