Ignite fund
The Ignite fund supports the development of collaborative research or impact projects developed between University of Leeds researchers from any faculty and cultural, arts and third sector organisations in Yorkshire. The scheme aims to initiate or bring about a step-change in partnership working.

Gender Matters: A Leeds International Piano Competition research sandpit
Wednesday 18 November, 9:30am to 2pm – University of Leeds Campus. Lunch is included.
What role does gender play in the development of international careers in classical piano? Data reveals broadly balanced participation of genders during musical education, followed by a striking divergence at the point of transition into an international performing career.
An interdisciplinary sandpit will bring researchers from different disciplines together with pianists, conservatoire teachers and music industry experts to explore what might lie behind this pattern – and identify the context and questions that could underpin future research.

Sapling fund
The Sapling Fund supports the development of collaborative projects in the arts and humanities that have the potential to effect change outside the academy. The Sapling Fund is jointly delivered by the Leeds Arts and Humanities Research Institute (LAHRI) and the Cultural Institute (CI) and is supported by the Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF).
We invite colleagues to develop a project rooted in research in arts, humanities and/or culture in collaboration with at least one non-HE partner. The scheme aims to bring about a step-change in partnership working.

Leeds Creative Labs
Pairing creative professionals with researchers from the University, Creative Labs provides funding, opportunities and co-creative space to share ideas and experiences without deadlines and targets.
Each residency lasts for two months, providing ample time for exploration and innovation:
- Discover new research connections.
- Gain the courage to push boundaries.
- Translate ideas into grant development.
- Experiment with new approaches.
- Expand your research and artist network.

Work alongside specialist curators and apply research methods to world-class museum collections.
