About me

I’m an experimental physicist by training and a physics education researcher in practice, which allows me to combine my research curiosity with my passion for teaching.

My research interests include curriculum structure redesign and realization, group assessment, and blended learning approaches.

I have published in both physics and education academic journals and presented at national and international conferences on various aspects of science education, three times being the keynote speaker.

It has been interesting to study, work, and teach university physics in two different higher education settings, beginning in my undergraduate years in the US and continuing throughout my career at universities in Canada and Germany. My revised introductory physics course, taught in German, received a teaching award in 2018.

I’ve been involved with several projects ranging from small-scale science outreach and student mentoring to large-scale professional development and institutional re-structuring of teaching and curriculum. I have worked on the latter with three different UK institutions since 2017.

How I can help

I bring a lot of varied and international experiences to my work with colleagues through the Learning Design Agency to help shape the shared learning and teaching experiences at the University of Leeds.

Please get in touch with me by email. I have regular visits to the University too if you would like to meet in person.
