Richard de Blacquiere-Clarkson

Position
Staff
Job title
Academic Design Consultant, Learning Design Agency

About me

As a member of the Student Education team, I contribute to the production of tools and resources to support effective curriculum and learning design, including through the Learning Design Agency.

My background is in teaching and educational development across a range of universities and also in schools, with a focus on critical digital pedagogies and inclusive practices.

I am currently involved in designing and delivering bespoke support for Faculty, School and Programme teams, induction and mentoring student education-focused staff, and supporting the development of individual colleagues.

Whilst my academic background was originally in Philosophy, I’m actively engaged in Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.

As a Fellow of the Leeds Institute for Teaching Excellence until September 2024, I lead a project on embedding the systematic development of digital literacy into the curriculum, which complements my role in Organisational Development and Professional Learning (OD&PL).

How I can help

I can help you with equity, diversity, and inclusion, assessment, design thinking, active learning and the effective use of digital technologies.
