- Major Research Initiatives Manager
Jeff is responsible for working with academics, businesses and national and regional government to identify, test and develop major research initiatives that transcend faculty boundaries and are strategically significant to the University. The role involves a range of skills, identifying opportunities, developing strategy, matching the strengths of the University to needs and wants of external stakeholders, building consortia and working up proposals and business cases.
Jeff has worked in the for profit sector in a number of roles, research and development, business management, business consulting and finance. His experience includes both large and small organisations. He has been a non-executive director of a number of university spin-out companies as well as being Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for one. He is also an Associate Lecturer at the Open University for marketing, finance and business strategy.
