Major Research Initiatives Manager

Marc is responsible for working with academics, businesses and national and regional government to identify, test and develop major research initiatives that transcend faculty boundaries and are strategically significant to the University. The role involves identifying opportunities, developing strategy, matching the strengths of the University to needs and wants of external stakeholders, building consortia and working up proposals and business cases. A further aspect of Marc’s role is to work with local and national government to secure funding opportunities in line with the economic values for UKPLC that is generated by the University’s major research initiatives.

Prior to joining the University, Marc worked in senior economic consultancy and public policy positions focused on urban and regional policy and strategy, project appraisal, business case development, evaluation and economic impact.
