Undergraduate scholarships
We have up to £4.7 million worth of scholarships available for international students commencing their studies in September 2026.

Students who apply to Leeds through an International Partner Agreement are not eligible for these scholarships.
We also offer Masters scholarships for international students.
International Regional Scholarships
An automatic £5,000 fee reduction scholarship is available for international students from an eligible country/region.
International Undergraduate Regional Scholarships are designed to help ease the cost of living, allowing you to focus on your education and achieve your potential. They are automatically awarded to eligible students as a fee reduction on your first year’s tuition fee.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for an International Undergraduate Regional Scholarship, you must:
- be a passport holder from one of the following countries/regions: Canada, Egypt, European Union, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Nigeria, Norway, Singapore, Switzerland, Turkey, USA;
- If you hold an eligible passport, but currently live in another country/region, you will be eligible for this scholarship.
- If you are only domiciled in one of these countries/regions, you will not be eligible for this scholarship.
- be classified as an international fee-paying student;
- be self-funded or partially funded;
- hold a conditional or unconditional offer for an undergraduate course starting in September 2026;
- be entering into year 1 of your undergraduate course.
Excluded courses
The following undergraduate courses are not eligible for the International Undergraduate Regional Scholarship:
- Medicine and Surgery MBChB
- Dental Surgery BChD
- Law (2 year Graduate Programme) LLB
How to apply
You do not need to submit a scholarship application. If you meet the eligibility and award criteria, you will automatically receive the scholarship.
Receiving the scholarship
When you are offered a place on one of our courses, you will be notified of your scholarship award shortly after you receive a course offer.
You will not receive an award letter confirming the scholarship and it will not be reflected in your CAS.
This scholarship cannot be deferred to a future year.
The scholarship is a tuition fee discount which will be deducted from your full tuition fee when you register as a student at Leeds.

International Excellence Scholarships
We have up to 250 scholarships, worth either £3,000, £6,000 or £16,000 available to support eligible international students.
The awards recognise and reward high academic achievement for students applying to study an undergraduate course starting in September 2026.
At Leeds, we welcome international students from over 140 countries or regions to our multicultural campus. Our International Excellence Scholarship supports students to fulfil their potential and join our diverse community.
These competitive awards will be awarded to selected students as a tuition fee discount on the first year’s tuition fee.
Eligibility criteria
To apply for an International Excellence Scholarship, you must:
- be classified as an international student for fee purposes;
- have a conditional or unconditional offer for an eligible undergraduate course starting in September 2026;
- be self-funded or partially funded;
- be entering into Year 1 of your undergraduate course;
- demonstrate an excellent academic track record evidenced through your high school qualifications;
- show excellent personal skills evidenced through extracurricular activities;
- in your application, explain why you’re applying to study at the University of Leeds and how it fits your future ambitions and goals.
Excluded courses
The following undergraduate courses are not eligible for the International Excellence Scholarship:
- Medicine and Surgery MBChB
- Dental Surgery BChD
How to apply
You will only be able to apply for this scholarship once you have a conditional or unconditional offer for an undergraduate course. If you have an offer for multiple courses at the University of Leeds, you will need to submit a separate scholarship application for each course.
All offer holders will be notified via email when applications for the International Excellence Scholarship 2026 are open.
Application deadline
The deadline to apply is Tuesday 31 March at 5pm BST. You will be contacted regarding the outcome of your application by Friday 15 May at the latest.
