- Research-based learning
I took part in the Undergraduate Research and Leadership Scholarship scheme, allowing me to undertake a supervised degree-related research project. I worked with the Museum of the History of Science, Technology and Medicine developing a digital map of all the different exhibitions on campus. The project pulled me more into the research culture of the University.
I really valued the time and input of the academics I was working with, as it acted as a bridge between student and researcher, and helped me feel more confident and at ease with my work in higher education. The impact of the project is huge, it increases the accessibility of the museum to students, academics and the public, making the collection more integrated into Leeds as a whole. I think this is really important, given the huge contribution that the city itself makes towards Leeds being such a great place to study.
