I chose to study General English because I wanted to learn about British culture. I really enjoy listening to the British accent and learning about British history. I learnt about it at school, but just for a short period of time, not in much detail. During the course, I learnt a lot of information about Victorian times. In Leeds, I visited the museum, and went to Kirkgate Market. I love old buildings, and I was amazed they are still there and I can go inside.

I really enjoyed the presentation project - I worked with a partner, and our topic was the difference between rich and poor in Victorian times. We didn’t know much about presentation skills before, but the teacher told me what I can do to improve. For example, you can use signposting language eg “Now we will talk about…”, and that was very helpful.

I went once a week to Conversation Club at the Language Zone, which helped me to practise more.
