Studying the pre-sessional

The pre-sessional course helped me a lot. for example, it enabled me to think critically and understand events from different aspects. Secondly, it helped me get familiar with various academic genres, such as journal articles, books and reports. I can write using the academic format and discipline. Our teachers were friendly and nice, and they would motivate us to express our thoughts.

Activities on campus

The University held different language activities, like global café. In the global café, I would meet so many other students from different countries. And there were many activities to take part in at the café, such as DIY painting, paper cutting and calligraphy. It was fun and exciting to try something new.

Living in Leeds

Leeds is a vibrant city. I am studying intercultural studies, so it’s important for me to experience different cultures and meet different people to discover the world from a unique angle. I would say that the city of Leeds has created many more opportunities to inspire me.

I enjoyed the trips that Leeds University Union offered. Last summer, I went to York with my classmates. It was a really good time to appreciate the summer views and ancient buildings in this country.

Overall

The pre-sessional course is not only an academic programme that facilitates your academic English skills, it is a course that can allow you to fit into an independent life in a different country and give you time to prepare enough for your MA study.
