My role
My role involves leading the administrative processes for a wide range of Lifelong Learning Centre (LLC) outreach activities, which aim to engage and support adult learners and prospective students.
I oversee and lead the administrative processes for the LLC’s ‘JumpStart’ taster course programme, working closely with our Communities and Partnerships Manager to support adult learners in building their confidence in a higher education setting. Additionally, I support the set-up and running of events for prospective students, both online and on the University campus.
A central focus of my role is taking a proactive approach to maintaining and refreshing the systems and processes we use across the C&P team. I enjoy identifying opportunities to improve our digital workflows and data management, both within our team and across the wider Centre. Using tools such as Microsoft Forms and Power Apps, I set up and maintain reliable systems to capture, store and report on data, supporting our evaluation and impact reporting.
I work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure our administrative processes run smoothly, from coordinating event logistics and communications to designing accessible new interfaces for our ‘Learning Champions’ mature student volunteer scheme. Through continuous development of these systems, I help ensure our outreach activities and services are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
Alongside my systems work, I take a creative approach to designing digital content for a range of audiences. I frequently use Canva to produce informative flyers and graphics that engage both adult learners and community partners, helping to raise awareness of our services. I also contribute to maintaining the LLC’s presence on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube, utilising video editing software such as CapCut and Microsoft Clipchamp to produce engaging reels and promotional videos for our events and wider provision.
Whether streamlining internal processes or creating accessible resources for prospective students, my focus is on supporting the LLC’s wider mission of making higher education a realistic option for mature students and those from under-represented backgrounds.
