Our free on-campus and online events will help you find out more about our foundation year courses and full/part-time degrees for adult learners.

You can also join our general sessions, where we’ll cover topics such as student finance, returning to education and support for mature students.

Applicant drop-in sessions

Our weekly applicant drop-in sessions run every Tuesday afternoon from 1–4pm until the end of August.

Drop by the Lifelong Learning Centre on Level 11 of the Marjorie and Arnold Ziff Building on the University of Leeds campus for help with your application for any of our courses, applying for student finance, writing your personal statement and anything else we can assist you with.

Remember, your deadline for applying will depend on what you want to study and your particular circumstances, so it's always worth getting in touch with us to make sure you’re clear on when you need to apply by.

Upcoming events

9 September: Studying as a mature student

Wednesday 9 September, 10am to 1.30pm. 

Are you an adult looking to return to study? This in-person event will dispel myths and answer common questions about studying at university as a mature student.

You will: 

  • Find out more about our courses and support for mature learners.
  • Hear from some mature students currently studying at the University of Leeds.
  • Have the opportunity to ask questions relevant to your indvidual circumstances.

15 to 17 September: Adult learner autumn school

Tuesday 15 to Thursday 17 September, 9.30am–2.30pm daily.

Thinking about your next steps? Never had the chance to get a degree?

Come along to this three day, in-person event at the Lifelong Learning Centre to explore what it’s like to study as a mature student.

Spend three days on the University of Leeds campus to:

  • Try tasters of different subjects and explore what you could study.
  • Learn about the financial support available to help you study.
  • Connect with other adult learners in a welcoming and friendly environment.

This opportunity is for adults who want to explore their options in education, who haven’t already been to university. If you already have a UK or overseas degree, or are studying for an Access to HE Diploma, the autumn school will not be relevant to you.

Lunch is included and limited free pre-school childcare places are available at the University nursery. Please book as early as possible if you require childcare and we’ll contact you to make arrangements.
