University of Leeds statement: Use of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)

Following recent publicity about the use of Non-Disclosure Agreements in Higher Education, the University wishes to make clear that it adopts a zero tolerance approach to sexual harassment, abuse and misconduct. No one should be silenced when raising complaints about such issues.

We actively address harassment and sexual misconduct through prevention and, when such cases do occur, we take every step to ensure those affected can report allegations and receive the assistance and help they need, so they feel safe and supported.

To this end, we can confirm that we do not use NDAs in relation to cases of sexual harassment, abuse or misconduct, nor would we ever do so in the future.
