Joining the Jiu-jitsu team was a real highlight – more than just a sport, it’s a community. Here, I became not just a member but the president of the team, gaining confidence to take myself to the next level and lead others to success.

I’ve had support from my mentor, David all the way through my university experience. With his support, I've navigated the ups and downs of university life, and as I come to the end of my final year, it's great to know he’ll be there to see me graduate.

As I look to the future, I’m not just leaving with a degree; I’m leaving with experiences that have shaped me, a community that has supported me, and the confidence to take on whatever the future holds.

Foundation years

A Foundation Year is the first year of an extended degree. It is an extra year of study at the start of a university course. It will help you to develop the study skills you need to succeed on your chosen degree path.

We’ve designed these courses for applicants whose backgrounds mean they are less likely to attend university and who don’t meet the typical entry requirements for an undergraduate degree.
