Everyone turns up on the first day of university thinking you’re going to be the only nervous person. Joining a society is great way to meet people and try something new. I joined Leeds Student Radio on a complete whim after speaking to someone in Freshers’ Week and from there it’s grown into being a massive part of my University life. It’s completely different to my course, I’ve done comedy, current affairs and news, and it brings together an eclectic group of people with different interests, who all share a love for radio.
