Postgraduate researcher placement

Alice’s area of research is in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. She applied her knowledge and expertise on a secondment at Versus Arthritis (formerly Arthritis Research UK) by working on grant applications and communicating research outputs by writing reports for a lay audience.

She also created interactive activities for use in exhibition stands, to help bring the messaging to life. Together with another colleague, Alice led on and delivered resources and online tools to help train others in the writing and delivering of case studies of patient and public involvement in Versus Arthritis-funded research.

In terms of her development, the experience exposed her to the full breadth of translational research, enabling her to see how her research feeds into the wider process with the end result of helping people with arthritis.
Alice’s secondment was funded by the Translate programme.
