Fees
The tuition fee for the initial year of the Bachelor Degree with Integrated International Foundation Year is:
- £21,250 for Arts and Social Sciences, Business and Design Routes
- £21,750 for Engineering, Science and Healthcare Routes
There are different ways you can pay your tuition fees.
Scholarships for the International Foundation Year
IFY Excellence Scholarship
How much is it worth?
£5,000 deducted from the International Foundation Year tuition fee.
Who is eligible?
Overseas fee-paying applicants who have been offered a place on the International Foundation Year. There are three awards available.
Eligible courses
All International Foundation Year routes.
Application deadline
The deadline is 30 June 2023.
Apply for the International Foundation Year Excellence Scholarship.
Terms and conditions
Applicants must be self-funding and not in receipt of other fee scholarships, new to the University of Leeds, enter onto level 0 and classified as international for tuition fee purposes and not be in receipt of any other University of Leeds award.
Africa Scholarship
How much is worth?
£3,000 deducted from the International Foundation Year tuition fee.
Who is eligible?
Overseas fee-paying applicants who have been offered a place on the International Foundation Year from the following countries:
- Nigeria
- Kenya
- South Africa
Eligible courses
All International Foundation Year routes.
Application deadline
The deadline is 31 August 2023. Applicants must meet the terms and conditions and fill in the International Foundation Year Scholarship Declaration form.
Terms and conditions
Applicants must be self-funding and not in receipt of other fee scholarships, new to the University of Leeds, entering onto Level 0 and classified as international for tuition fee purposes and must not be in receipt of any other University of Leeds award. Applicants must be a national of, and domiciled in, the previously stated countries and fill in the International Foundation Year Scholarship Declaration form.
Middle East Scholarship
How much is it worth?
£3,000 deducted from the International Foundation Year tuition fee.
Who is eligible?
Overseas fee-paying applicants who have been offered a place on the International Foundation Year from the following countries:
- Egypt
- Jordan
- Lebanon
- Bahrain

Science Scholarship
How much is it worth?
£2,500 deducted from the International Foundation Year tuition fee.
Who is eligible?
Overseas fee-paying applicants who have been offered a place on the International Foundation Year for the following courses: Biology, Ecology and Conservation Biology, Genetics, Zoology, Biological Sciences, Biological Sciences (Biotechnology with Enterprise), Human Physiology, Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemistry and Mathematics, Food Science, Advanced Psychology, Medical Microbiology, Medical Sciences, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Nutrition, Pharmacology, Psychology, Psychology with Education, Sport and Exercise Sciences, Sport and Exercise Sciences, Sports Science and Physiology, Biochemistry, Medical Biochemistry, Physics, Physics with Astrophysics, Theoretical Physics, Environmental Science, Psychology and Food Science and Nutrition.
