We switched to online teaching on 30 March 2020. Find out what it's like to study online from some of our students on the postgraduate pre-sessional English course:
Yiqing's experienceI like the live sessions, because we can communicate with our teachers, and try to express our ideas in English. This is very useful to improve our spoken English and self-confidence.
"When we encounter difficulties, the teachers explain carefully and give us some resources. For example, with grammar problems, our teacher recommended a website we can use to improve our grammar, but also pointed out mistakes when correcting our work. They also give us a lot of advice, such as how to write an essay plan.
"I enjoy the individual tasks and the live sessions. The individual tasks allow me to address my weaker skills in a targeted way, and the live sessions provide help, feedback and verification. More importantly, I can hear ideas from my tutors and exchange ideas with others."
My tutors are fabulous teachers with endless patient instructions. I like the webinars and live chat, and the activities are well-balanced between independent study and collaboration.
During the live class, our teacher will answer questions that have come up in our individual tasks. We also have online discussions and share ideas with classmates in live sessions.
"This course is helpful for improving my language ability, and I am accepting new ways of thinking and learning.
