We understand that applicants and offer holders may have concerns about the ongoing coronavirus situation and your plans to study with us at Leeds. We want to reassure you that we are continually reviewing this and taking all the necessary steps to be as flexible as we can to support you.  We will be providing updates on this page but please check the FAQs below first. I am a UK based applicant or offer holder

I’ve applied to the University but have not had a decision on my application yet. Are you still considering applications?

Yes. Your application is very important to us and we are still processing applications as normal, but please be aware there may be a delay in receiving a response from us.

I am due to start my studies in September 2020, will you be delaying the start of term?

We are continuing to make preparations to welcome our new students in September as usual. If this situation changes and we have to make alternative arrangements, including flexibility with start dates we will write to notify you. We will continue to provide updates on this page.

My school is currently closed and my exams have been cancelled, how will this impact my application?

We’re awaiting government guidance on how and when qualifications will be awarded. As soon as we’re clear we'll make adjustments to our admissions processes and communicate these to applicants.

I have received a conditional offer but am worried that I may now not meet it. What will happen if I miss the grades?

We'll be as flexible as possible in these unprecedented circumstances and we'll do all we can to support you. If you miss the conditions of your offer, we have a process in place to consider this and you won't automatically be unsuccessful.  

Are applicant visit days still going ahead?

Due to the current coronavirus (COVID-19) situation our scheduled on campus applicant visit days and campus tours have been cancelled. Some areas may be offering online alternatives and will contact you by email with any updates.

I have an Access to Leeds alternative offer, will the online Access to Leeds module still be taking place?

I have received an Access to Leeds/Realising Opportunities alternative offer from Leeds. Will my offer remain the same?

Yes your alternative offer from Leeds will remain unchanged. For more information visit our Alternative Admissions webpage.

I am an international applicant or offer holder

I’ve applied to the University but have not had a decision on my application yet. Are you still considering applications?

Yes. We are still processing applications as normal but please be aware there may be a delay in receiving a response from us.

I’ve received my unconditional offer from Leeds but am worried about getting my visa in time. What should I do?

Don’t worry, where UKVI centres are closed, we will make adjustments if you need to arrive late.

Can I delay paying my tuition fee deposit?

There is no set deadline for paying your tuition fee deposit, however we will not be able to issue a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) until a deposit is received.

Will the deadline for applying for University accommodation change?

No at the moment our accommodation application deadlines are unchanged.  For the latest information visit our Accommodation website.

I am due to start my studies in September, will you be delaying the start of term?

We are continuing to make preparations to welcome our new students in September as usual. We are currently considering a number of options, including flexibility with arrival dates and potential for some online teaching in the first semester. We will continue to provide updates on this page. 

My school/university/English language test centre is currently closed and I’m not sure when my exams will take place. What should I do?

We are monitoring the situation carefully with all relevant exam boards and test centres, and if required we may extend the deadlines for receiving transcripts. We will continue to provide more updates as they become available.

I have applied for / I am thinking about applying for an English language pre-sessional programme. Have there been any changes as a result of the coronavirus (covid-19) situation?
