Fees and scholarships


2021 programme fee:

  • Full four-week programme: £3,240
  • Two-week programme (either block one or block two): £1,820

Leeds International Summer School (LISS) is an all-inclusive programme. Included in the programme fee is:

The cost of flights, insurance and visa is not included.

When you have received your acceptance letter you will be required to pay £300 of the programme fee as a non-refundable deposit to accept your offer of a place on LISS. The remaining balance must be made in full by 10 May 2021 (non-refundable after this date).

Coronavirus (Covid-19) update  

The University is closely monitoring the Coronavirus (covid-19) situation. Currently LISS is scheduled to take place in person. Whilst we hope it does not come to this, we to reserve the right to cancel LISS or cancel certain individual bookings if we think the risk to people’s health becomes unacceptable. If we cancel LISS or your individual booking, or if you cannot attend LISS due to travel restrictions put in place by your Government, we will refund your deposit and programme fee. The University’s liability will not extend beyond this refund. We will not be liable for any associated costs of attending LISS you have been unable to recover e.g. travel costs. Please ensure you have appropriate travel insurance. 

Discounts available

Early application discount

Submit your application by 1 April 2021 to receive an early discount, reducing the four-week programme fee to £3,090. The discounted early rate for students attending for two weeks (either block one or two) is £1,745.

Group discount

For institutions that wish to send a group of 10 students or more a group discount is available. Please contact us for more details at summer@leeds.ac.uk.


If you have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.2 or above (or equivalent) then you are eligible to apply for one of 20 scholarships worth £500 to help pay for your fees. You can apply by completing the scholarship section of the summer school application form. 

Please note you must attend both blocks of LISS (four weeks) and you must apply by the 1 April 2021 early application deadline to be eligible to apply for the scholarship.
