Applications have now closed for the five Bragg Centre PhD studentships (October 2020 start), tackling fundamental and applied problems across a wide range of academic areas.
More fully-funded positions will be advertised in autumn/winter 2020 for an October 2021 start.
The Bragg Centre comprises around 200 members from fifteen University schools. Continued investment in excellent facilities and infrastructure, including a new building opening in 2020, ensures that our staff and students benefit from state-of-the-art, high-quality equipment and laboratories. We are also a founding partner of the Henry Royce Institute, the UK’s Institute for Advanced Materials.
Research into the design, characterisation, fabrication and modelling of new and improved materials is vital to meet societal and economic challenges across almost every aspect of life. Electronics, food, transport, construction, manufacturing and healthcare are just some of the sectors that benefit from scientific and engineering excellence in materials.
