Applying

Apply for the University of Leeds International Foundation Year using our online application form.

Deadline for applications: 31 July 2024.

You’ll need to upload copies of your supporting documents including:

  • your most recent high school transcript 
  • your English Language certificate 
  • your passport
  • any previous UK visas.

Once you’ve passed the initial International Foundation Year with the required grades, you’ll progress onto your chosen undergraduate degree programme. There’s no need to make a new application or take a new English Language test.

Additional supporting documents

Depending on which undergraduate degree you want to study after the International Foundation Year, you may also need to provide additional documents as part of the application process. If this applies to you, we’ll send you guidance on this after we’ve received your online application form.

Personal statements 

For some degree courses, you’ll also need to send us a detailed personal statement.

Portfolio (Design courses)

If you want to progress onto a undergraduate Design degree, you’ll also need to send us a portfolio.

ABRSM qualifications (Music courses)

If you want to progress onto a undergraduate Music degree, you’ll also need to send us proof of your ABRSM instrument Grade 8 merit or Grade 7 distinction, and ABRSM Theory Grade 5 merit.
