As a new member of staff, settling in to a new work environment can take a little time but we will offer you support and guidance, to help to settle you into to your new role quickly and comfortably as possible.
Each faculty or service area of the University has its own dedicated HR team to ensure you always have someone to contact should you require any help or support.

Relocating to Leeds
If you are moving to the Leeds area from elsewhere in the UK or from overseas, our Relocate website is a useful resource, with information including applying for visas, transport connections, childcare facilities and local leisure activities – it also includes handy checklists so you can make sure you haven’t forgotten anything.
We want you to settle into your new work environment as quickly as possible. Our probation process, which your line manager will discuss with you shortly after you start, is designed to give you the support you need to perform in your role to the best of your ability.
In addition to this, regular welcome events for new starters are held to help welcome you and introduce you to the wider University. Information about these sessions can be found on the new staff welcome page on the Organisational Development and Professional Learning (OD&PL) website.
Additional induction sessions run by OD&PL can help you familiarise yourself with more specific areas of the University such as student education and research and innovation.
With over 100 buildings, it can take some time to know your way around the University campus. If you need help finding your way around the University you can use our campus map or follow the signposts around campus.
