“I went to Ilkley and Otley with my host family. It was a very good place – I took so many pictures! ”
To help you settle in, meet other students and make friends, there's a full programme of social, cultural and language activities run by the University and our Students' Union. Whether you're arriving outside of term time or during the academic year, you'll find lots of opportunities to take a break from your studies, practise your English in a relaxed environment outside the classroom and get to know more about the UK.
As well as short activities you can fit around your study timetable, you can go on day trips to explore beautiful British towns, cities and countryside. Many social activities are free and some cost around £10 to £20.
From September to June you can choose from more than 300 student-led clubs and societies to get involved in. This is a great way to try new hobbies and meet students from different courses who share your interests.
