Our courses provide an outstanding and flexible learning experience. We offer extended degrees with a foundation year, pathways into degree study, flexible undergraduate courses for part-time and mature learners, and apprenticeships.
If you would like to go to university but dont currently meet the typical requirements for entry, we offer admissions through the alternative entry scheme

Full-time courses
Pathways on to a degree
This is a one-year course. On successful completion of the course, you can choose to progress on to a full undergraduate degree in your chosen area.

Extended degrees with foundation year
These courses are designed for applicants whose backgrounds mean they are less likely to attend university (also known as widening participation backgrounds) and who do not currently meet admissions criteria for direct entry to a degree. This means we consider additional factors about your background when you apply [LINK].
On the course, you benefit from a foundation year which provides intensive support to enable your development of academic skills and knowledge. On successful completion, learners progress to a range of degree courses across all faculties of the University.

Top-up degrees
Top-up degrees are designed for people working or volunteering with children or in teaching and learning roles. Building on your Foundation Degree or previous experience, the degrees focus on the interaction between professional practice, work-based research and current policy within the sector.

Higher and degree apprenticeships
Our apprenticeships are created in partnership with employers, to make sure that apprentices develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed for their chosen career.
Apprentices gain a degree from the University of Leeds - a combined academic and vocational qualification - while continuing to work.
