You have legal rights to access certain types of information held by the University of Leeds.

    If you are looking for information about the University, you can find out if it’s already published or whether you need to make a Freedom of Information request.

Information and data request statistics

The University publishes statistics on our performance on handling requests for information made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

We publish these quarterly, in line with recommendations in the Freedom of Information Code of Practice.  

Information and data requests in 2024

Number of requests we received:

  • Freedom of Information/Environmental Information Regulations requests: 474
  • Data Subject Access Requests: 70
  • Total requests received: 544

Our responses (compliance):

  • Percentage of FOI/EIR requests we closed within the statutory deadline or under permitted extensions: 98%
  • Percentage of Data Subject Access Requests we closed within the statutory deadline or under permitted extensions: 92%
  • Number of Internal Reviews processed in relation to requests received under FOI/EIR: 4
