My role
I joined the academic skills team in the Lifelong Learning Centre in 2019 and I work with students in groups and one-to-one. I have developed and deliver our Kickstart programme, which is a pre-entry skills course that aims to help our prospective students prepare for their course by refreshing or introducing key study skills.
I am committed to making higher education more accessible to people who have experienced barriers and set-backs and am particularly interested in supporting people who have had negative previous experiences in education, or who have been out of education for some time.
Before joining the LLC I worked for the NHS as an occupational therapist in mental health and taught occupational therapy at university. I am pleased to be able to use this experience in working with our Nursing Associate and Assistant Practitioner apprenticeship students.
