My role

I provide wellbeing support for students, from welcome and induction through to one-to-one support. As the disability contact, I support students with disabilities, long-term medical conditions and specific learning differences. I am also an accredited member of the National Association of Student Money Advisors (NASMA).

As Student Support Officer at the LLC since 2013 my role sees me providing pastoral and wellbeing support for LLC students as well as mature students across the University – from welcome and induction through to one-to-one support.

As Disability Contact within the LLC I support students with disabilities, long-term medical conditions and specific learning difficulties. I enjoy both the reactive nature of supporting individual students but also the proactive nature of trying to create an enabling and supportive environment.

I'm interested in 'belonging' on campus both as a geographic community, a community of interest and as a diverse population in terms of age, belief, origin, culture and more.

I am a member of the National Association of Student Money Advisors (NASMA) and happy to help people navigate student finance.

I am also Co-convener of the Student Experience Network for the Universities Association of Lifelong Learning (UALL), the professional association for the lifelong learning community within higher education.

You can listen to me chat about student support, mental wellbeing and lifelong learning-related on the LLC Podcast.
