My role
I have worked in UK higher education for over 20 years in a variety of roles with my last role being Director of Degree Apprenticeships. Before entering higher education, I was a training manager in the NHS.
I provide strategic leadership for degree apprenticeships delivered by the Lifelong Learning Centre and my role covers the following areas: partnership working with key stakeholders, project management ensuring effective management of change, business development and overseeing quality assurance. I am also responsible for making sure the Lifelong Learning Centre is at the forefront of policy developments.
In 2008 I obtained my PhD from the University of Leeds and have subsequently pursued research in work-based learning and higher education policy. I am currently a member of the editorial board of the journal Industry and Higher Education.
Areas of expertise: work-based learning, apprenticeships, higher education policy, learning and development.
