We guarantee an offer of single University accommodation for your first year (and for all years for international undergraduates), as long as you apply by the deadline. If you have missed our accommodation deadlines, you can still apply and we will do our best to assist you.

Whether you want to live on your own or with other students, based on or off campus, catered or self-catered, our residences offer different options to suit your preferences and budget. Find out more about our residences.

Our dedicated Residence Life team run activities when you move in and throughout the year to help you settle in, make friends and be part of a thriving, inclusive student community. Residence Life Wardens and Residence Life Assistants are also available to help with any issues, with support available 24 hours a day.

Leeds is my firm choice (undergraduate)

You’re guaranteed an offer of accommodation as long as you applied by 1 July and are either:

  • a new first year undergraduate not coming to Leeds through clearing
  • a new undergraduate exchange student
  • or an international undergraduate paying tuition fees at the international rate.

We can’t guarantee you’ll get your preferred residence, but we’ll make every effort to find you somewhere suitable using the information you provide on your accommodation application form.

Once we have processed your application, we’ll email you with offer of accommodation. You can then log onto the online accommodation portal to check your offer. If you’re happy, you can then accept it. You must do this within 2 working days of receiving your offer. We are only able to make one offer of accommodation, so even if your offer is not for your preferred residence, we'd encourage you to accept it. You can find out more about all of our residences on our website, and we find most students love wherever they stay.

If your offer becomes unconditional by 11 July and you applied for accommodation by the 1 July deadline, we’ll email you with your accommodation offer by 1 August.

If you have a conditional offer, we’ll email with your accommodation offer after your offer becomes unconditional – in most cases soon after A-Level results day on Thursday 13 August 2026.

If you’re an international student and your offer becomes unconditional after 11 July, this is also when we’ll email with your accommodation offer.

We send out accommodation offers over a number of weeks, so don’t worry if we are not in touch straight away. If you haven’t received an email by 10 September, please call Accommodation Services on (+44) 0370 1200 189.
