We understand the importance of finding the right living environment to help you settle in, study effectively and enjoy a good social life.

First year accommodation

We have an impressive range of accommodation from modern, purpose-built apartments to converted mansions both on and off campus.

You can choose from catered and self-catered accommodation. Catered facilities give you the luxury of cooked, balanced meals as well as a great opportunity to meet people. Self-catered accommodation is best if you like to live more independently, but still want to be in a close-knit student community with friends. See the accommodation we offer

Make lifelong friends

Living with fellow students studying different courses is a great way to make friends and broaden your horizons. There are plenty of things for you to get involved with which will make your experience unforgettable. Each residence has a student-led residents’ committee that organises social events and sporting activities. You can also get in touch with people who will be living in your halls by joining the Facebook group for your residence when your place at the University has been confirmed.

Accommodation viewing day

We host an accommodation viewing day each Spring, when all of our residences are available to view so you can see for yourself what's on offer and make an informed decision about where you want to live.

Beyond year one

Once you've completed your first year most students choose to move out into private residences in the nearby area. The University is a stone's-throw away from Hyde Park and Headingley where many students opt to live. These areas have numerous cafes, shops, bars and restaurants, which make for a vibrant living experience.

Care leavers

If you are leaving care to come to University you may be entitled to extra support from our Accommodation office.
