Be Curious is the Universitys annual, family-friendly, research open day, an event which is usually held on campus, but in 2020 we went virtual. Find out more about what we got up to here.
Be Curious 2020
In October 2020, Be Curious went virtual and we pulled out all the stops to make it a not to be missed, two week, online extravaganza. With live family events, fun activities, challenges and inspiring evening talks, we made sure there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Over 100 of our brilliant researchers were involved in creating lots of fantastic content from 2 minute demonstrations to try at home activities, research-related digital jigsaws and cartoon strips to help you explore just some of the exciting things we get up to at the University of Leeds.
If youre looking for fun family activities to try out at home, head straight to our Be Curious collection on padlet for inspiration, activities and instructions. Theres DNA decoding, sugar spider webs, keyhole surgery and more!
Be Curious Goes Virtual in June 2020
In June 2020, Be Curious went virtual while the country was in lockdown.
We shared three weeks of exciting and inspiring family-friendly resources and video content to help you explore just some of the world leading research happening at the University of Leeds.
Catch up with all the content from Demonstration Week, Arts and Crafts Week and Question Week on the Be Curious virtual padlet. You can download the Be Curious activities PDFs designed by our researchers to try at home, or check out the hashtag #BeCuriousGoesVirtual on Twitter.
Come back to this page for more announcements about future Be Curious events. We hope that we can welcome you back to our campus soon!
