Accommodation costs

Accommodation for prospective students may be the biggest cost to meet while at university.

The price you pay includes rent, energy costs, insurance for your belongings, internet access, and membership of The Edge leisure facility, our flagship gym and pool complex.

We have two dedicated halls for postgraduate students.

The prices of our University accommodation vary depending on the residence you live in and the type of room you have.

See our latest rent prices for catered and self-catered accommodation to give you an idea of the costs.

If you are considering private accommodation in Leeds you will find a wide range of options. There are private housing options to suit a range of budgets. House prices vary across the UK but you should also be able to get great value for your money in Leeds if you are looking to buy a property.

Other expenses

You will also need to budget for essentials such as food and transport, as well as non-essential spending such as socialising.

If you are an international student you must have enough money to cover your fees and living costs. The UK Council for International Student Affairs has information on the basics around fees for overseas students and our international funding page has information on fees and possible funding. The Which? student budget calculator can help you budget for living and studying in the UK.
