Students’ Union
Leeds University Union is one of the best and most active students’ unions in the country, it’s at the heart of our campus and our students’ social lives. Their mission is to make sure you love your time at Leeds. It’s the go-to place for everything from support and advice, finding part time jobs and meeting new people. With over 300 clubs and societies, it’s a hub for activity across campus.
You can also get professional and confidential support and advice through Leeds University Union’s student advice team. They can help you with anything from budgeting advice to mental help support. All their help is free and completely independent of the University.
Sport and fitness
The Edge is our on-campus indoor fitness, sport and wellbeing complex. Whether you want to keep fit, play sport socially or compete at a high level, you’ll find everything you need to keep active and feel your best. It has state-of-the-art equipment, as well as a 25-metre swimming pool and 8m climbing wall.
If you live in University accommodation, you’ll get Edge Club gym and sports membership included in your rent, allowing you access to a range of activities including exercise classes, indoor climbing and the 250-station Technogym.
Alongside sports facilities on campus, there are a number of sports venues off campus, such as Sports Park Weetwood which proves excellent facilities for outdoor sport and is used by students alongside members of the local community. Our Brownlee Centre is home to the UK’s first purpose-built triathlon centre and sits alongside our new Bodington cycle circuit, one of the longest in the country.
Our city
A lively, cosmopolitan city in the centre of the UK. With easy access to London and mainland Europe and beautiful country nearby, it’s easy to see why our students love Leeds.
The campus is really close to the city centre and I like how handy everything is. I can walk into town to grab some shopping or meet some friends for a bite to eat.
