Step into Leeds is a customised two-year outreach programme for students starting in Year 12 / Year 1. It is designed for learners who have the potential to succeed at university but whose background means they are less likely to access higher education.
Step into Leeds offers an extensive range of talks, workshops and on-campus events which will inspire and inform your students about their university options, subject choices and the variety of routes open to them.
Build your bespoke package
Step into Leeds allows you to take the lead in curating an outreach package that will best suit your students’ needs. We offer a ‘pick and mix’ menu and each term you can choose from a selection of activities that are academically enriching and provide essential information, advice and guidance to support your students through the key stages of the university application cycle. Depending on the option(s) selected, sessions will be delivered in schools, on campus or online.

Our subject specific activities provide your students with the opportunity to discover and explore a variety of disciplines. We offer taster seminars, student ambassador talks, interactive workshops and practical sessions to get your students enthused about different subject areas; whether that is a topic they already enjoy at school, or something completely new. Our workshops cover a wide range of specialist academic skills, supporting your students through every stage of the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). All workshops last 1 hour. Choose from:

- Presentation skills
- Referencing and plagiarism
- Research ethics and methodologies

We understand that the parents and carers of someone who is thinking of studying at Leeds may have their own questions about the University and higher education.
