Access to Leeds (A2L) is a widening access scheme which gives special consideration to students whose personal circumstances may affect their ability to demonstrate talent and potential through grades alone.
At Leeds we are aware that A-level grades alone cannot tell us everything about an applicant, including their abilities or their individual circumstances.
The scheme runs in addition to and not instead of the applicant's UCAS application. There are two possible routes into Access to Leeds:
- Students can apply for Access to Leeds directly if they meet our Access to Leeds eligibility criteria.
- Students could be confirmed as eligible when their Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) application is processed. If this happens, they will receive an email to inform them.
Eligible applicants to the scheme will receive special consideration from admissions tutors. Although Access to Leeds applicants are not guaranteed an offer, if they do receive an offer they will also receive an Access to Leeds offer two A-level grades (or equivalent) below the standard offer.
For more information and to find out if your students are eligible and how to apply, please visit our Access to Leeds pages or email the A2L team at accesstoleeds@leeds.ac.uk.
