The Doctoral College hosts events throughout the year. Our main regular events are:
- Leeds Doctoral College Showcase
- Research Nights
Leeds Doctoral College Showcase
Our Leeds Doctoral College Showcase takes place each year. It celebrates the excellent and diverse work of our postgraduate researchers and their contribution to the research profile and academic life of the University.
As a researcher, you have the opportunity to share your research with the wider research community. You can get valuable feedback and enhance your skills in presenting and communicating research to a non-specialist audience.
Competitions at the showcase include Postgraduate Researcher of the Year, Postgraduate Research Image of the Year and the Three-Minute Thesis competition, which is part of a prestigious national contest.
Watch Anna Berekmeri deliver her three-minute thesis, which won first place in the 2019/20 competition:

Research nights
Research Nights is a monthly programme of informal and accessible talks and discussions by our postgraduate researchers. Topics are wide-ranging and give a taste of the breadth of research at the University. Talks are delivered in a social setting and the evening is rounded off with a pub quiz.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Research Nights has moved online. Find out more on our ResearchNightsIn Twitter page
