We also offer a programme of CPD workshops for teachers and advisors which can be delivered at your workplace at a time to suit you.

This session explores how students can maximise their work and revision through applying new methods and techniques. We focus on how students can improve their current approaches to study which will in turn prepare them for higher education.

Applying through UCAS and personal statements

Audience - Year 12 and 13

Helps students understand the UCAS application process from registration, completing the form, through to tracking applications, handling offers, confirmation, adjustment and clearing.  Using real examples, we will explore the dos and don'ts of writing a personal statement and discuss why the statement forms such a crucial part of the UCAS application process.

Talk focusing on the opportunities available in higher education and what pupils can be doing in Year 12 to prepare themselves for applying to university.

Session focusing on the transition to university and the steps that Year 13 pupils can take to prepare for undergraduate study and student life. Highlights the opportunities available to first year HE students and discusses possible challenges and realistic solutions.

A session to prepare prospective students for selection interviews, focusing on why universities interview, what to expect and the dos and don’ts on the day. Current undergraduates who have been through the university interview process share their experiences.

An introduction to student finance including fees, loans, bursaries and scholarships. The extended session includes an interactive budgeting activity and top tips from current students on how to manage money at university.
