Voluntary opportunities

As well as offering internships and placements at your organisation or mentoring students, there are many other ways you can volunteer at Leeds.

Take a look at our voluntary opportunities to learn how you can inspire our students and potential applicants:

Career events

Hundreds of alumni have returned to campus to speak about their careers. Students relish the opportunity to gain exclusive industry insight from people who were once in their shoes.

Whether its networking practice, skills workshops or panel discussions, could you come back and speak to our students about careers? Please email us at alumnivolunteers@leeds.ac.uk.

Guest lectures

We invite alumni with a particular passion or knowledge to come back and speak to students. Your talk can be academically focussed or career based.

If there’s a talk you’d like to give to students, please email us at alumnivolunteers@leeds.ac.uk.

Open days

How would you persuade someone to study at Leeds? Prospective students love to hear what student life is like from people who have lived it.

To arrange to speak to potential students at an open day, please email us at alumnivolunteers@leeds.ac.uk.

Insight days

It takes just a day to make a big difference to someone’s career.

When you host a small group of students in your workplace for the day, you’ll give them fresh insight, broaden their networks and help them demonstrate their enthusiasm for their career choice.

To learn about hosting students in your business for the day, please email us at alumnivolunteers@leeds.ac.uk.

Alumni ambassadors

More than 100 alumni from 17 countries have acted as Leeds ambassadors.

As an ambassador, you’ll tell school and college students about the value of studying at Leeds. When you join the scheme, we’ll provide the support you need to become a top advocate for the University of Leeds.

To find out how to become an alumni ambassador, please email us at alumnivolunteers@leeds.ac.uk.
