Performing wonders
- The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin,
Pink Floyd, The Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys, Editors and Klaxons have
all played at the University Refectory and Katy B, 2manydjs and Marina and
the diamonds have played at other venues at the University.
- The Students' Union is one of the largest and
best in the country with 300 activities, clubs and societies. We are also
one of only three gold accredited (at level 2) students' unions, recognized
under a national evaluation scheme.
Building futures
- Our single campus is a ten-minute walk from
Leeds city centre
- By 2015/16 we will have spent £157m on new
buildings and refurbishment to create the environment to pursue excellence
in research and teaching
- Our students and staff - and Leeds residents -
are benefiting from new sports facilities including a swimming pool and
health and fitness complex
- We have won a number of environmental awards
including a 'highly commended' in the 2011 Green Gown Awards for Promoting
Positive Behaviour in relation to our UTravelActive project
